This website

The landing page runs without cookies, without analytics and without embedded trackers. The points and badges you collect while playing here stay in your browser (localStorage) and never reach a server.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, on Hetzner servers in Germany, which processes the usual server log data (IP address, time, requested file) to deliver the page and keep it secure.

The app during a session

When you open the app it creates an anonymous identity for that installation. There is no name, no email address and no password.

While a session runs we store your display name, the songs you queued, your votes, your emoji reactions, your chat messages, your points and which devices take part. Other participants see your name, that you have songs waiting (never which ones), your chat messages, your points and whether you are online. The host can remove chat messages.

All of that is deleted at the latest 24 hours after the session ends. You can delete your data yourself at any time in the app.

YouTube

Videos play in YouTube’s embedded player. While a video plays, YouTube’s Terms of Service and Google’s Privacy Policy apply, and Google may set cookies on the playback device.

Searching sends your search text to the YouTube Data API. Results and song metadata are cached on our server so the same search does not have to be repeated; the cache holds no personal data.

The AI judge

If the host sets up the optional AI judge, the title and channel of each song are rated on the host’s device. With Apple Intelligence that happens entirely on that device. With the host’s own API key the title and channel are sent to the provider the host chose; the key stays on the host’s device and never reaches our server.

Logs and your rights

Technical server logs contain no names and no complete invitation links and are kept for seven days.

You can ask us about your data, have it corrected or deleted, and complain to a supervisory authority. Write to uli@moinsen.dev.
